If you are visiting beautiful Ruidoso, make sure not to miss all the fun and excitement Western style, at the Flying J Ranch. This cozy little ranch is located off NM48 via US70 and is ready to take you back to a time of ranchers, rustlers, lawmen and outlaws. The minute you step into this Old Western town, you start to feel the New Mexico tradition conserved in a unique 1800’s style wilderness setting.
As the members of the Flying J prepare the chuck wagon meal, take a stroll down the town’s main street to the gift shop or how about a pony ride for the kids? There is also a supervised shooting range for all you gunslingers out there. As you make your way down to all these fun filled locations, proceed with caution as a “street gun fight” can erupt at a moments notice, putting you right in the middle of all the action. Once the dinner triangle rings, it’s time to “come and get it.” The chuck wagon style meal consists of lemonade, real cowboy coffee, BBQ brisket or BBQ chicken, baked beans, baked potato, homemade applesauce, spiced cake and homemade biscuits served on an authentic Western metal dish.
As you finish your meal the fun continues with the Flying J Wranglers who put on a show like no other, singing traditional Western songs they get the crowed clapping and stomping their feet. The Flying J Ranch hosts a fun evening for the entire family. |
