History
Founded in 2001 by Paolo and Sylvia D’Andrea, the Luna Rossa Winery is located near the town of Deming in Mimbres Valley, New Mexico. Paolo was born and raised in the region of Friuli, which is located in the northeast part of Italy.
Luna Rossa wines are made from one hundred percent New Mexico grapes. Of the many wines that they produce, their Viognier is perfect when chilled and served up with Asian cuisine. Fermented and aged in French Oak Barrels this wine has a very intense flavor of tropical fruit and peaches, sure to compliment your dinner. Spice up your fiesta with their Shiraz. Aged in oak barrels for 11 months their Shiraz is smooth and fruity with a hint of blackberries. The Shiraz is the perfect companion for spicy Mexican foods, BBQ or meat dishes. To finish off your meal, Luna Rossa’s Muscat is a delicious sweet-style wine. Your palate will welcome it with a dessert such as spumoni ice cream or tiramisu.
If you are interested in tasting their wine, the winery offers wine tasting and participates in the seasonal wine festivals.
