TASTE THIS

Well-known for his outdoor gatherings featuring his brisket and rib recipes, Julio was tired of store-bought bottled barbecue sauces that he said simply, “had no taste.” He decided it was time to create his own and after much experimenting with ketchup, brown sugar, molasses, dijon mustard, garlic, bell peppers, onions and then some, “Julio’s Gourmet Bar-B-Q Sauce” came to life.
He decided to jar the secret stuff and this summer, he and his family were off to Ardovino’s Desert Crossing every Saturday morning to sell the goods. Julio insists the best part of all is that the sale of the sauce became a family affair.
Now, the Coronado Country Club and the
Surf Club in El Paso are both using the sauce. El Pasoan Jim Paul swears by it and owns a case. It comes hot and not. No pretentious packaging. Just a humble man with a recipe from his kitchen to yours.
